Leadership training is critical in today’s healthcare environment, because healthcare providers are faced with an unprecedented pace of change.  We need leaders who can successfully guide new initiatives in a reformed healthcare environment and who can communicate well with patients and colleagues alike. Tideswell is supporting leadership development for health professionals who are actively working to develop novel and important clinical, education, research and policy programs to advance the care of older adults. These emerging leaders will be better able to adapt and thrive in an increasingly complex healthcare setting.

Tideswell, AGS and ADGAP Emerging Leaders in Aging Program

Tideswell at UCSF, AGS, and ADGAP are pleased to announce the launch of the fourth cohort call for applications for the 2018 – 2019  Emerging Leaders in Aging Program – Leading Tidal Change in Aging: Scaling Up for the Future. The program will augment and leverage existing leadership skills for clinical, research, policy and educational initiatives in aging. The program consists of activities spanning one year, with the anticipation that the community of leaders will remain meaningful colleagues for each other throughout their careers. The program begins with a two-day, in-person workshop in San Francisco, CA, followed by individual and small group coaching/mentoring sessions via telephone or videoconference, and culminating with a final two day in-person meeting in the days preceding the AGS 2019 Annual Meeting. Leading Tidal Change

Tideswell at UCSF supports leadership development training for health professionals in the field of aging because successful organizations need agile, courageous and skillful leaders. During 2014 – 2015, six emerging leaders in the care of older adults at UCSF participated in a year-long pilot program called Leading Tidal Change, which provided mentorship in applying self-assessment tools, setting goals, and learning to lead change and to lead others. Due to its success the current national program was launched in 2015 – 2016.
