Tideswell’s Deborah Barnes shares the success of her PLIÉ Program: Improving Function & Quality of Life in Vets with Dementia

Tideswell’s Senior Investigator Deborah Barnes, PhD, MPH developed the following video pitch about her program called PLIÉ: Prevention of Loss of Independence through Exercise.  PLIÉ is an integrative movement program for people living with dementia.  Pilot testing of the Paired PLIÉ program was supported by Tideswell at UCSF, and the program has received subsequent funding from the VA Hospital Innovators project and from the Alzheimer’s Association. Dr. Barnes’ team will be conducting a clinical demonstration project at the San Francisco VA Community Living Center and partnering with the Presidio Y and with an adult day center in Santa Rosa.
