Tideswell’s Community Aging Health Project and geriatrics trainings for police officers were highlighted recently in a SF Gate article, S.F. officers get training for policing graying adults. Tideswell Associate Director Dr. Brie Williams and pilot awardee Dr. Rebecca Brown shared findings from their recent Journal of the American Geriatrics Society publication as evidence of the great need to educate police force and others who frequently encounter older adults in the community to identify signs of aging that may pose risks to safety. The training sessions for police officers are a part of the Community Aging Health Project sponsored by Tideswell at UCSF. Read more about the Community Aging Health Project here.
